MALO NI! WELCOME!
Like most Tokelau Fathers, richly steeped in their oral tradition,Dad would often recite the Family Tree by heart to us kids,18 or more generations back, forward, and sideways. This web site is dedicated to him for my pain of regret of not having shared his passion for being "essentially Tokelauan" while he was alive, and through him,for all our Fathers who have passed on,for the Sons (and Daughters),like this one,who seeks to "come in from the cold".
One day,a few months back,a spritely 81 year old man came to visit me.He detailed to me our shared lineage. This energised me to want to know more.Thank you to Fatia for the Perez line and advice.
Any culture that is not written down, like human memory and oral history,is doomed to fade with the passage of time.
The authors' aim of this site is to bring together a concise and definitive geneology record of Tokelau people, drawing from oral tradition and written records. This site is a work in progress,of an indefinite timeframe,so please look past factual errors you may find, for they are there for us to correct. If you have any smidgen of talent for geneology or want to contribute to this project, please send me a message.I would want all the help I can muster. Lastly, please take time to leave a comment in the visitor's book. For those seeking more info on bloodlines, I have included my Face Book link and also the FB Tokelau Group for people to use as another resource.
 Fakafetai lava. Cheers.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
